I have to admit, the name of this dahlia makes NO sense to me! She's not a yellow for the yellow brick road, she's not ruby for the bespoke slippers, she is, in fact, a really beautiful blush. I don't get it. It must be an inside joke of some kind.
But the name aside, this mini ball is a must grow. Her small blooms are a really unique shade of pink. She's pale, she's muted, she's kind of chalky--she's all things trendy at the moment. Really, I think she's a fair stand in for Bracken Rose or the pink expression of Rock Run Ashley without the corresponding price tags.
I really like her form, her size, her color, her beautiful and delicate (but strong) dark stems, and her production--she's a worker. She does have a tendency to open her center if she's at all unhappy--but keep her well fed and watered evenly, and she'll be perfect.
