Berner Oberland Dahlia Tuber
I hemmed and hawwed over over adding Berner Oberland to my collection for years, and finally made the leap, and I'm so glad!
I hesitated because I didn't think the color would really be that popular with my usual clientele of wedding florists who all mostly want pinks and blushes and whites, and do I really have enough space to follow my every whim when they might not be top sellers? Yes. The answer is yes, in case you weren't sure. Because I was so wrong, this color is amazing!
It is very hard to do this shade of hot pink/smoldering magenta justice with my phone. But gosh, it just worked with so many warm peaches and golds. I especially loved it with my all-time favorite summer combo of orange or gold marigolds, blue victoria salvia, a cool shell pink (like cosmos, or scabiosa, or lavatera) and then THIS color. So vibrant and vital and eye catching at market. We sold a ton of those bouquets this last season. Customers LOVED them.
In addition to this color being so great the stems are awesome, solid, wiry, and extremely prolific. Just remember, he's a waterlily, so give him time to open fully before you cut!
If you're catering to solely wedding designers, this may not be your guy, but if you're just growing for you, or market customers, or friends and family--you're going to love him!
