Sweet Love Dahlia Tuber
Sweet love could be a little sister to Sweet Natalie. I got this one as an error from a wholesaler while ordering Jannick's Symphony, but, after poring through the catalog, I'm pretty confident of the ID now. Side by side with Sweet Natalie, Sweet Love is smaller at 3 inches, and each petal has a heart of pink with a fade to creamy white at the tips, unlike Sweet Natalie, which is larger, and has that completely beguiling opaque cream/creamy-purple-bluss at the center of the whole flower not just on each petal. Both are great for wedding work.
Sweet Love wasn't notably productive for me in 2022. But the color is perennially popular, and the form was lovely. Medium sized plants that held their own against wind and rain.
Full disclosure: I purchased this variety as Jannick's Symphony, and I'm pretty sure that ID is inacurate. After going back and forth with my sales rep, and poring over what varieties it could have been, we're all 90% certain it's Sweet Love. Regardless of the name, all the things I said above are about THIS variety... which is either Jannick's Symphony or Sweet Love. But I'm pretty sure it's Sweet Love :)
