Gitts Perfection Dahlia Tuber
I know there are a lot of selfies in the photos, Gitts Attention is just so big--I really wanted to illustrate her size in relation to my head. Kind of a shy bloomer, which makes sense as the blooms are well over ten inches, and on the later side, but such a beauty when they do start blooming. A fun garden plant for collectors or good for cutting if you've got a longer season.
I love large-flowered dahlias, while not the easiest to work into the majority of the bouquets I make, they're existence is just so incredible and brings such joy and awe to my life that I always grow them anyway. And, of course, they're prefect for large arrangements. And they do hold up pretty well, compared to some other larger flowers. In fact, that photo of them sitting with Break Out--those blooms had been there for over a day without water, so you know, their vase life could be worse.
