
Braising Mix is one of the best foods we provide. A huge variety of colors, textures, flavors, and a heavy hitter in the nutrition department.
While the components of this mix do vary as the season goes along the base is almost always composed of spinach, chard, kale, broccoli leaves, and beet greens. On top of that various friends join in the seasonal melody, such as lambs' quarters, malabar spinach, amaranth leaves, chicories, cabbage leaves, brussels sprout leaves, mustard leaves, turnip greens, and probably some other guys, too! All the leaves in this mix are palm sized or smaller, tender, fresh, and can be chopped, ribboned, or used whole.
Use this mix in place of any cooking green you may be used to. Coarsely chop, saute, and toss with pasta. Serve as a pillow under meat dishes. Steam and serve as a side dish. Use in lasagne in place of spinach. Saute with balsamic vinegar, onion, and garlic and serve with Parmesan chicken. Saute in butter and serve with two fried eggs on top for breakfast--one of our favorite ways to start the day around here. The uses are endless! Get your vitamins and treat your taste buds!
