Rocco Dahlia Tuber
Sweet little Rocco!
A dainty, mesmerizingly geometric little purple/maroon pompon dahlia! The plants are actually quite tall--many poms tend to be shorter statured plants, but these were over four feet tall with the cutest little button blooms! Really nice, great vase life. and the stems are not too thick--nothing worse than a pom on a broomstick handle!
I resisted getting into poms for a long time because they just aren't as impressive as the bigger blooms, HOWEVER, I was wrong. They're amazing in the same what highly detailed miniatures are amazing. Plus my five-year-old loved harvesting them because they're "the litttlest ones!"
Pompons are probably the most diverse and useful size for dahlias, and, as a grower, we may not get as much per stem for the littles, folks always order the most of them, so they almost always end up pulling their own weight, or more, every season--economically speaking. Like for a standard wedding bouquet, you can use maybe three big Cafes at $5/ea, but maybe 10-15 littles at $1.50-$2/ea. It definitely pays to grow them.
Plus they're just so cuuute!
